Stephen Beatty at the Canadian International Auto Show 2010

Was strolling through the auto show and was surprised to notice Stephen Beatty, Managing Director of Toyota Canada at the information booth. He was explaining the ‘unintented acceleration’ issue and fix in detail with pedals in hand to a Corolla owning couple, and the floor mat issue (apparently Toyota Canada’s mats are Canadian designed, different from those in the US and less susceptibe). He did an excellent job, and was extremely patient with show patrons. Kudos to him and Toyota Canada in being so forward, prepared, and approachable at the event. I think they’re doing right by their customers and this’ll make a great case study in how to turn a negative situation into a positive opportuntity to reconnect with customers and restore trust in the Toyota/Lexus brands.

CIAS 2010 – Hyundai Blue Drive Display

The Hyundai Blue Drive display featured Olympic Opening Ceremonies-like projected images onto the floor. Cycled through a few themes, one photographed here, but also a fall leaves theme where as you walk the leaves blew out of the way clearing a path to see the car below, and a dusted image there where you clean the floorspace to see the Hyundai beneath. Pretty cool.

Subaru had different backgrounds and props to use… family friendly something to do while at the show.
