Truck break-in mess

Someone broke into my 2000 Dodge Dakota and stole some CDs. What annoys me the most isn’t the break-in — that happens, whatever, move-on — it’s the MESS they made.

They broke the back window and then perhaps realized they couldn’t fit through it and the cab is too big to reach the locks and so also smashed in the passenger window. ARGH!!

Then they didn’t have the right tools to remove my Sony player so they ruined both the player and the dash bezel trying to remove them and still failed to steal it.

The insurance quickly covered the repairs but little bits of the broken safety glass kept reappearing in the cab for a year. In the end, they actually did me a favour because I was wanting to get a new Pioneer MP3 player anyway and this way I was able to get a new $600 player/receiver by only paying the difference with the insurance covering the first $300 from the Sony player. So half price, YAY!

Seriously though, if you’re going to do something, first take the time to think about what might be the best way to do it.
